WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.
ALL PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES OFFERED BY ADVENTURES WITH KATE WILL BE RESCHEDULED OR POSTPONED UNTIL THE STAY HOME ORDER IS LIFTED.
I HOPE YOU'RE STAYING SAFE AND SANE.
Here is a little lovely something my partner, Harold, and I made. As two artists (he is a full-time musician) who were suddenly without work during COVID-19, we asked ourselves: What kind of art does the world need right now? The answer seemed to be: Something that offers rest.
These are unprecedented, and honestly really scary times. There is so much uncertainty and each day seems less stable than the last. No matter where you look, there are reminders that life has changed, and until we know how much and for how long, even our ability to adapt is stifled. It is exhausting.
So we created this little lovely something in hopes that you can enjoy approximately 4 minutes of beauty, rest, and peace. This is an invitation for you to unplug and permission to spend a moment without worrying about the future. Our hope is that you watch it on the biggest screen you have and with the best speakers possible. Not because it is extraordinary work, but because the more immersive it is, the more meditative it can be. Allow yourself to be present. To listen to the birds and the rain. To watch the water slowly drip down the plants. We promise, your worries will still be there should you choose or need to pick them back up after this video, but we hope you will part with them, if only for a short while.
We are all in this together and that is a constant source of hope, no matter how bleak things look. As artists who typically perform a luxury service, in that it is laughably "non-essential," we have felt particularly vulnerable trying to understand what working will look like during and even after this pandemic. We don't know what comes next, but what we do know is that we are spending money and we aren't making money, and that is not sustainable. It's hard to ask for help, especially in a time with so. much. need. But we love what we do and the art we are able to create, and in order to sustain that, we do need help. So if this video, or any of the work we have done has meant something to you, we have set up a way to donate to help support us during these weird times. Please don't feel any pressure, as we know many of you are in the same boat, but if you are willing and able, every little bit helps.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has ever supported us. Whether you came to a show, hired Kate to photograph your event, bought an album, told a friend about our work(s), or even just liked a photo on Instagram, it is overwhelming and humbling every time someone welcomes us into their lives and hearts. We love each and every one of you so damn much.
We hope this video leaves you a little better than it found you (get it? leaves...) We hope you come back to it as often as you need it. We hope you share it with the people you love. We hope you tell us how you're doing in the comments. We hope you feel a little more loved today than you did yesterday. Thank you.
